What Customers Say about the Garmin Fenix 2:

“This is just a quick review. The Garmin Fenix 2 is awesome. First off I teach GPS at the community college and I have for several years. To teach GPS you must know how the system works and know the different GPS units. With that being said, and after reading reviews there is nothing wrong with the Fenix 2.

People who are complaining about the accuracy, wrong altitude, barometric pressure, took me to the wrong location, etc……..Dont have a clue how GPS works or its limits. I tested this unit on a 20 mile hike in the wilderness and it was spot on with the mileage declared by the Forest Service, spot on with published maps whether printed or internet. This unit is as capable as any other Garmin unit and as accurate.

Before knocking a product, know the topic. Just my two cents worth. I would highly recommend this product to any outdoorsman.

Oh if you want to learn how to use a GPS, (any GPS) take a class.” – Gary Rose

What People Say About Garmin Fenix 2 Garmin Fenix 2 is a full featured training watch for multisport athletes, with a high sensitivity GPS radio, altimeter, barometer, 3 axis compass, accelerometer, thermometer and both ANT+ and Bluetooth radios“I have had several Garmin models: 305, 310xt and even tried a watch that only did pool laps (Pool mate?) The Fenix 2 combines not only a triathlete events, but hiking, skiing, etc. They have a newer version that has a white background, but I have no troubles seeing the lettering with a black background.
It is easy to use, quick to hook to the GPS and collects a lot of data. battery life is beyond my needs at this point so I have never ran the battery out or ran into a situation where I lost it during an event.

In comparison to other models this fits like a watch unlike the 305/310 models. It maybe heavier, but I don’t notice. Perhaps the design distributes the weight? Anyway, I don’t feel like I am wearing a brick on my wrist and at times I forget I have it on.

The running metrics are unique and I am learning how to use in my training. All in all, a well made tool in my opinion.” – R. Haun

What People Say About Garmin Fenix 2 2 Garmin Fenix 2 is a full featured training watch for multisport athletes, with a high sensitivity GPS radio, altimeter, barometer, 3 axis compass, accelerometer, thermometer and both ANT+ and Bluetooth radios

“I spent a lot of time researching this watch compared to the Ambit 2 and the Garmin Tactix. As a military member myself, the Tactix “night vision” friendly didn’t really justify spending the extra fifty dollars at the time. Additionally, the extra modes (all except the tide data) are available on the the Fenix 2.
After trying the Ambit 2 for awhile I realized that it just wasn’t for me. No cons really, just that I didn’t like the way it looked, fit, or the user interface.
For all of the GeoCaching folks out there, this watch allows you to download caches from the geocaching site and download them to your watch. No more need for a seperate GPS device (also, it is more accurate than my iPhone 99% of the time)
Overall the Fenix 2 has done everything I could ask for! I would definitely recommend it.

Additionally, I would recommend the DC Rainmaker site to anyone considering an athletic piece of tech gear. The reviews are super detailed and any questions you may have are answered right away.” – Daimon Brown
